  4. accept that the crying may be continuous— it’s not weakness.

  5. stop seeking out that which causes you pain.

  7. yes, other things/people are causing you pain but face it: you’re looking for it.

  8. you know what will hurt you and you seek it out.

  10. pray. actually pray.

  11. stop being afraid. it’s God. it’s the universe. it’s someone else’s hands at work.

  12. be honest with yourself about what isn’t working anymore.

  13. cut ties. nip the bud. let go.

  15. some things (most things) are never yours to begin with. we are on loan to one another and the universe.

  16. it’s going to be fine even when it’s not.

  17. for every loss you have eventually gained.

  18. starfish grow back their limbs. isn’t that beautiful?

  19. remember when that lizard that snuck into your room and your brother pointed to the tail, said, “hey, look! see that line? that means it lost its tail once, but it grew it back.”
