72 Hours in Ukraine

My friend Ramsay Bader and I spent roughly three days in Ukraine during Independent

Learning Week while attending University of St Andrews. We may have taken that week’s

name a bit far.

Ramsay, with previous experience along the Ukrainian border as a relief worker during the

opening days of the war headed our trip. Using contacts made during that time, we set of to

Kyiv. Our goal - to see this conflict with our own eyes, and understand the reality of the

situation. One can learn about conflict from the safety of their home. To experience that,

however, is markedly different

As an avid photographer and history student, this opportunity greatly excited me. Armed

with our local contacts, press letters, and American passports we set off from Krakow to

Kyiv.
