the truth behind meteorology
olivia leduc | Fall 2021
when i look at you,
you are every weather.
you are the bright summer sun, the intense heat that melts my skin by every touch you make
you are the untouched blanket of soundlessly
fallen snow; so soft, so enticing, so peaceful for my soul
you are the light drizzle of rain that caresses my face as it drips down to my fingertips, but finds
its way back by every splash of my walk.
but you are also the storm that brews,
cracks of deafening thunder and streaks of unwelcoming lightning
you are the hail that breaks me when we collide,
searing melancholy through my aching body
but i still long for you in every season
