years spent escaping in the universe by kiersten wood

along an arch

of broken stars, she holds

her breath, poking her

toes into the horizon,

she falls

into her atmosphere,

slipping along a milky

way. she scatters amongst

velvet shadows.

twisted between tangles of

dimensions, unable to

gather herself fully into

one cosmos.

vacuums

swallow her

fragments with

obscure

ambition, flames

lick her finger

tips and sear her

eyelashes among

mist she senses

eerie glances of

oblivion

a collection of pieces she’s

reunited with herself a mirror,

a decrepit body framed by

years spent escaping in the

Universe.
